Press Release

6th April 2016

Are you over 55 and living in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown? If so why not come along to an ‘Active 4 All’ event where you can try new activities and have fun while getting some exercise.

On the 10th and 11th May dlr Sports Partnership are teaming up with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and dlr Leisure to organise two days of activity taster sessions. Anyone in the County over the age of 55 is invited to register for one of these fun days in dlr Leisure Loughlinstown. Demand is expected to be high so book your place early.

The focus of Active 4 All will be on group activities and light exercises, promoting physical activity and encouraging a healthy lifestyle. Activities will include Dance, Parachute Games, and taster games. With a free lunch included, participants will also get an opportunity to try out the Go for Life games and maybe qualify to represent Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County in the National event in June.

This event is open to anyone over the age of 55 years living in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area, but pre-registration is essential by completing and returning an Application Form. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. These events are part-funded by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, the HSE and the Go for Life Programme.

If you want to get more active on a daily basis, then why not take part in a weekly activity session run by dlr Leisure. This session takes place in each of our three public leisure facilities, Meadowbrook, Loughlinstown and Monkstown.

For further information on this event and to register please contact Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership at 01-2719502 or sportspartnership@dlrcoco.ie.
